The project consists of two parts; the submission for the first applies. The first part consists of an Austrian competition for young people (16-24 years) on development. In the second part of the UNESCO Youth Forum young people from all over the world are invited to participate in the discussion in the frame.
Within the framework of the European Year of development 2015, young people should deal with the topic development, development cooperation and sustainable development critically. The global challenges of the 21st century (poverty, climate change, gender equality, sustainable lifestyles etc.) should be creatively lit under the aspect of development cooperation and publicity presents ideas and suggestions for the future and discussed.
In a competitive school and university students can present their thoughts on development through science, education and culture either in short videos (“Digital Storytelling”) or texts (essays, short stories etc.). The telling of personal stories, experience different perspectives (e.g. different generations) is in the foreground.
The submission of contributions to the competition will take place by online platform so that it is a broad public. By a jury, the best projects will be selected and presented at a conference in Vienna in the third quarter of 2015.
The winning projects will be presented at the UNESCO Youth Forum 2015 in Paris and invite youth from all over the world to take part in the exchange.
